The VMX 2023 conference was packed with masterclasses, workshops, and luncheons with experts across disciplines in veterinary care that tackle complex and emerging topics, including:
- New trends in pain detection and management of vet species
- Non-invasive approaches for early cancer detection in animals
- The latest diagnosis and diagnostic strategies in veterinary medicine
- Workshops on emergency procedures and life support skills
- Advancements in vet surgery practices
- Pharmaceutical breakthroughs
And a lot more about nearly every pet and animal that visits your practice.
VMX kicked off the sixth leg of its ‘pet pitch’ competition, each year showcasing new products and services. The competition highlights innovations in veterinary care and awards a $5000 prize and additional brand exposure and recognition to the winner. The finalists this year included:
- a digital diagnostic and treatment tool that helps veterinarians to speed up clinical decision-making
- a rapid test tool that detects active periodontal disease in dogs and cats in 10 seconds with no anesthesia or sedation required.
- a groundbreaking dental technology using prebiotic water that eliminates but strengthens dangerous and beneficial bacteria in canine’s oral health, respectively.]
NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill, in a press release, said, “All of us in the veterinary industry recognize the importance of new innovations. We are dedicated to supporting these entrepreneurs by providing mentorship and critical feedback to help accelerate their ideas into thriving businesses.”
Nothing celebrates the 80’s better than Footloose! VMX opened up the 40th annual conference with a speech from non-other than actor Kevin Bacon. The show didn’t stop there with bringing in large names and attractions. In the name of all things retro and to celebrate 40 years, this year’s conference had an arcade, roller rink, and even free tattoos! The conference culminated with a private concert from Lady A on its third night. The 5-day event was flocked with industry-leading companies, products, services, and professionals across the globe to join in celebrating NAVC’s 40 years in the industry.
