Get ready for some serious Awwww-worthy news! AIV recently donated some new medical equipment to BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, MD!
BARCS Franky Fund Staff are now the proud owners of a new VetroCRI Pump (their first veterinary syringe pump on site!), IVetMATE Fluid Warmer, and PowerMATE. Our team gave the staff a brief training on how to best use and care for the equipment and even got a tour of the facility and met some animals looking for their forever homes.
BARCS, the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, is the largest open-admission animal shelter in Maryland, taking in over 11,000 animals per year. BARCS’ Franky Fund provides emergency and specialized medical care to homeless animals in need.
Each year they care for about 900 animals and the fund relies solely on private donations. Located on a campus in Baltimore, they provide medical care and shelter to all animals ranging from dogs and cats to piglets and iguanas.
BARCS also provides resources to pet owners in need such as affordable vaccines, spay and neuter, temporary housing, pet food banks, training, and much more.
BARCS, and shelters all over the country, are always looking for volunteers to walk dogs, cuddle kittens, and help with other shelter duties. If you are looking for a way to get your paws dirty (in a good way), consider volunteering at your local animal shelter.
AIV Vet will continue our relationship with BARCS and local shelters. We are looking forward to working together to improve the lives of animals!
